The biggest difference between these and my earlier patterns is that there was occasionally a leakage issue with the older ones due to the way they kind of curved in right before the wings. The new design has the wings added after the body is made, allowing for a more straight line and markedly decreasing the possibility for leakage or overflow in those areas.
The nighttime pads have also been changed to decrease the likelihood of leaking over the edges of the pads if you tend to sleep on your side at night. I will also be introducing a new longer nighttime pad for those of us who sleep on their backs since that presents a different problem than the one side sleepers have.
See, lots of pads are all-purpose style and if someone doesn't fit the parameters for the pad, they find it problematic to obtain a good fit. My goal has always been to provide pads for those with unique situations - the plus size woman, women with heavy bleeding, women with incontinence issues, and those who need more coverage than traditional pads provide for whatever the reason might be. Having been in that situation myself I find that I can think along those lines more easily than someone who has regular, normal-flow periods. It's important to me that my customers find a place to obtain cloth pads to meet their needs. I've done custom pads for someone who needed a longer pad than I offered; another person asked me to make them an extra super absorbent pad. I don't mind doing that kind of thing - in fact, I enjoy the challenge.
I'm always looking for new ideas and suggestions. Please feel free to leave a note if you think of something.
Have a great week!
